brutal 16 gangrape

New Delhi: In another horrific incident, a group of men allegedly abducted and gangraped a woman in a moving car in New Delhi, just almost three months after the brutal December 16 gangrape that shook the country and exposed the flimsy safety facilities for women in the national capital. The woman has alleged that she was driven around the city on Sunday night, crossing many busy traffic lights along the route.

The rape survivor, who has filed a complaint with the police, has alleged there were six people in the car, including two women. She further said all the occupants were known to her and she has named them all in her complaint that was registered in Mandawali Police Station in east Delhi.

The medical check up of the rape survivor has been conducted. The police has sent two teams around the city to track the six people and their phone call records, and also to trace possible eyewitnesses of the case.

The woman was also robbed of her jewellery and the mobile phone that she was carrying at the time of the incident.

On December 16, half-a-dozen men gangraped and brutally assaulted a 23-year-old paramedic student in the national capital on board a moving bus. The breaveheart later succumbed to her massive injuries on December 29. The five adult accused in the case are facing trial while the sixth accused is a minor, who is facing proceedings before the Juvenile Justice Board and has also been charged with rape and murder of the girl.
